Manufactured September 12, 1952 in Wolfsburg, Germany. Black L41 exterior and gray upholstery.

Last month of the original split pod dash. Only known under-dash Grundig tube radio.

1131cc 25hp flat four engine. Top speed 62.5 mph (100 kph). 6 volt electrics.

I purchased "Otto" on September 19, 2001 from a collector in Oregon. The car was manufactured on September 12, 1952 in Wolfsburg, Germany and delivered to Würzburg, Germany on September 13, 1952. It was found in a field in Arkansas in the late 1980's and taken to Portland , Oregon. A company named German Motors did a complete "body off" restoration. However, certain parts were not found and they used what was at hand. Years later they sold the car to another individual who completed the restoration to factory standards and accuracy, replacing any part that was not correct. All parts on the car are NOS (new old stock) or original. More to come.......

"Otto" has won 1st place at Kelley Park 2001, and 1st place and Best of Show at The Peninsula Automotive Bug Jam.
